THE GOOD LIFE

Guys. Life is great. I've spent the past 10 days in pure happiness, starting with a trip to Ole Miss. Patrick and I went to Oxford for Double Decker weekend (huge art festival with outdoor concerts all day Saturday) and even though the forecast said 80% chance of rain throughout the day, it held off until 11pm, just in time for our walk home from the bars. As always, it's great to be in Oxford. Definitely have developed a special place in my heart for it! Last week brought both our birthdays - I am May 1 and he is May 2! I spent the day celebrating with co-workers at a fun lunch, then out with my best friends at Puckett's Grocery. This weekend was the long-awaited Kentucky Derby and although it rained and was miserably cold, we made the most of it, thanks to an excellent stroke of luck and getting access to the Jockey Club.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY.

Hooray it is FRIDAY! I feel like this week just sped by, which is always a happy thing. It's probably because I had a few fun things throughout the week - my parents came in town Wednesday and we did a little birthday dinner at The Southern and my friends and I did a little shopping last night. And now it's Friday!!! Do ya'll have wonderful plans for this weekend? I hope whether it's relaxing and watching a movie or taking a fun trip, you all have a fab Saturday and Sunday!

I am headed to Oxford, Mississippi for Double Decker weekend at Ole Miss. Double Decker is a huge arts festival on the Oxford Square with tons of live music, good food and original art. There is typically a baseball game over the weekend, which is a really fun time as well - Ole Miss has a great fan base. Since Patrick and I haven't been there since OCTOBER (seems like forever), both of us are super excited. Him more than me, most likely, since that is his alma mater and all... but what can I say, Oxford holds a special place in my heart :) 

WHAT HAS SHE BEEN UP TO?

Does anyone else wonder how it's already November 9th? Oh my gosh, I swear it was just September. Pretty soon I'll be breaking out the Christmas music and baking aka eating cookies like there's no tomorrow. I think part of this fast forwarding of time is because I went on a ridiculous number of trips from September 20th to this past weekend. Vail, Washington DC, Mississippi, Kansas City, and Athens... yep, pretty much hit every part of the United States. Each trip was so fun for different reasons and I'm a very lucky and blessed girl to travel as much as I did! Now I think my traveling will come to a standstill for a bit and I'll just enjoy my time soaking in everything Nashville :)

Weekend wrap up

A day or two late, but better late than never! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend - I know that I did! I was in Oxford, MS for a quick weekend visit with Patrick, but I couldn't be happier I went. The weather was finally cooperative with no rain and just sun, sun sun! On Saturday I experienced my first Ole Miss baseball game - so different than anything I ever witnessed at Indiana. Around 10,000 fans came out for the game, including students (imagine that!!!). Granted, Ole Miss was playing the No. 1 team - Florida, who they beat, by the way! - so the crowds made sense, but I was assured that kind of attendance was a regular thing.

The best part about Ole Miss baseball games that students sit in the outfield and since it is technically "off campus", we could enjoy the game while having a couple brewskies. In the event of a home run, all the students throw their beer in the air, resulting in a very beer soaked me. But it was extremely hot, so although I had to shower again, I was a teensy bit refreshed!! On our walk home I saw Faulkner's house (at least that's what Patrick told me), and a million other gorgeous, old, Southern homes. 

That night Patrick and I had dinner at Boure, an Oxford favorite, followed by watching the Kansas-Ohio State Final Four game at The Library and listening and dancing to the Mustache Band. Paris snagged some stick on mustaches from the band, which naturally resulted in us pretending to be Anthony Davis. All in all, very good weekend and I was sad to see Sunday come.  

This week has been crazy so far at work, but I have some good blog posts lined up (at least I think so!) so stay tuned! Happy Easter week!
