WAKE UP YOUR WALLS

Not that I'm a home decor expert, but it seemed like wallpaper went through a little bit of a decor rut in the late 90s and 2000s. Paint was all the rage and I didn't even think to have wallpaper in my room instead of the Granny Smith Apple green (with a really cool daisy bedspread accompanying it). But recently, I feel like wallpaper has made a comeback and I'm actually really into it. I love the above images, and think that a really great design can make way more of an impact than paint. I don't know if I could ever wallpaper an entire bedroom, but I do think that it is a great option for small spaces like an entry way or a bathroom.

What do you think? Are you on board with wallpaper or paint all the way?

THANKSGIVING TABLE SETTINGS

placecards
I think Thanksgiving is one of the most beautiful holidays to decorate for. I love Christmas - the white lights and poinsettias and holly - but there is something about Thanksgiving with the leaves, berries, and pumpkins that is just so stunning on a table. I've been looking at Pinterest and through magazines recently for inspiration for the upcoming holiday. My mom always sets a gorgeous table(s), but as I'm trying to expand my skills (flower arrangements being one of them), I'd love to help her out this year. Did you just read that Mom?! I love the above ideas and think they are cute and exactly what a Thanksgiving table needs... along with the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and mountains and mountains of food :)

GALLERY WALL

I get my couch in today, which basically means now the living room can start to come together. We have two open walls and I'd like to do some sort of gallery wall on one of them. I love Mackenzie's gallery wall in her NYC apartment - and if you haven't already seen her apartment feature on Glitter Guide, check it out immediately after reading this! I've already collected a couple good prints, like this "Hey Y'all" print to start one in our living room, but it's definitely not something you can just throw together in a weekend. I like the idea of having this Nashville neighborhood print somewhere in our house - but I think I would want to do a custom order of a simple black print on white matte paper. It's honestly amazing how long it takes to get a house to feel like a home... but it's definitely worth it seeing everything come together!

currently

Anyone know how it is already Friday?! I swear this week just flew by. It was a fun one - we had a pre-launch party our moonshine client Monday night, Adweek named The Buntin Group top agency in Tennessee, went to a "Style Setters" event at the Hermitage Hotel on Wednesday and spent last night relaxing. This weekend I'm headed to Indiana to see a sorority sister get married. Can't wait - it's the first wedding of my group of friends and I'm SO excited to see everyone and celebrate Brooke and Mark! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Now for my weekly loves and lusts:

---

1. Lulu & Georgia Lydia Lamps: If you haven't heard of Lulu & Georgia, head to the site now. They have a fantastic assortment of rugs at all prices, lamps, pillows, and home accessories. I love the set of the Lydia lamps. I think the chartreuse is so fun, but I could also go for a neutral like black or ivory.

2. Alexander Wang Motorcycle Jacket: I mentioned last week I want a leather motorcycle jacket - although with my budget I likely will be settling for a "vegan" (aka a fancy way to say fake) leather jacket. If I had endless funds, I would be making this Alexander Wang jacket mine. It's basically perfect. This Old Navy version is a pretty decent option though, and $50 is much more affordable!

3. Club Monaco Sunglasses: Because why not? They are a classic shape and I love tortoiseshell.

4. Dash & Albert Rug: We are in need of a rug and I think this one is an excellent one. After seeing it on Liz's blog, it seems like the perfect balance of a pattern and a neutral.

5. Sailor Knot Earrings: Mackenzie has such a good selection of products in her shop, Design Darling, and these earrings are just one of many items to catch my eye. I currently wear diamonds as my every day earring, but I think a classic pair of gold earrings is an essential.

6. J.Crew Elbow Patch Sweater: It just wouldn't be right not to include J.Crew, would it?! I absolutely love all of the new fall arrivals, including this sweater with the leather elbow patches. So cute, classic, and cozy for the fall months ahead!

Currently

I've decided to start another series on the blog called "Currently". Each Friday I will highlight certain things I've either come across during the week and absolutely love, or pieces that I've been lusting after for some time. I hope you all enjoy the series and as always - I love hearing feedback!

Also - you may have noticed some slight website redesign. I'm in the process of making the site more personalized and not the standard template it once was. I've added an About Me section, and a Nashville section, where I'll highlight my favorite places to eat, go out, and shop in Music City.

----

1. J.Crew Merino Boyfriend Sweater : How comfy and cozy does this sweater look? I want it in literally every color. Especially this gray and the dusty jade. Even better - J.Crew is offering 25% off select shirts, sweaters, and bags through Sunday, and this sweater happens to be one of them.

2. J.Crew Etta Pump in Calf Hair : I'm pretty sure I would wear these shoes with just about everything this fall and winter. I don't own a pair of the Etta pumps, but I've read other bloggers rave about them. I love the chunky heel and haven't you heard? Leopard is the new black.

3. Anthropologie Celestial Coaster Set : As I'm in the process of decorating my not so new house, I'm on the look out for things to make it feel truly like my own. I know coasters aren't exactly essential, but once we get the coffee table in, these would come in handy for drinks. Plus I love them... the question is, which color?

4. Kate Spade Saturday Heeled Boots : Want. Want. Want. I so badly want a good pair of heeled boots for fall. They are right up there with a leather skirt and motorcycle jacket. These ones from the Kate Spade Saturday line are borderline perfect. Now can they go on sale?

5. Bauble Bar Ice Salazar Earrings : Because why not? Every girl can use some awesome earrings in her jewelry box.

6. NY Times 36 Hours Southeast : Again in the spirit of decorating the house, I think this would be a great book to have on the coffee table. Plus, living in the Southeast I would like to take full advantage of traveling around. I already have my Southern Living magazines bookmarked, and this would only add to my to-do list with insider information on where to eat, travel, shop, and sight see.

7. Loren Hope "Carina" Necklace : Loren Hope's fall line will be receiving a dedicated post, but this is just one of the amazing pieces I'm coveting. I honestly would like every single necklace, bracelet, and earring set in her collection. Oh em gee.

A BEAUTIFUL LIFE

Parima Studio
Happy Friday! Don't you all just love this quote? I had pinned this quote awhile ago, and while going through my Pinterest boards, realized that it is actually purchasable (if that's not a word, I just made it up) on Etsy! The shop is Parisma Creative Studio and it has a ton of great prints. As I start decorating the walls in my house, I might have to buy this or this or this!

Have a great weekend - I'm off to Indianapolis for a little reunion with some of my sorority sisters. So excited to see them!

HEY Y'ALL!

In *hopefully* a few weeks I will be moving into a new home, so to say that decorating is on my brain would be an understatement. When I saw this "Hey Y'all" print on Pinterest, I knew I had had had to have it somewhere in my new house. Is it not the cutest? Even cooler is that the girl who designed it (check out her Etsy store) lives in Nashville - love supporting someone from my own city! Even more exciting was that I found a new blog, which I love. It's kind of insane how many bloggers there are in the world, and so many of them so successful and talented at what they do. The Hunted Interior is an awesome design and lifestyle blog is penned by Kristin Jackson who lives in Atlanta and has a seriously great eye when it comes to interior decorating. I'm considering my pinning a double success!

MEG GALLIGAN'S SAN FRAN APT. ON THE EVERYGIRL

It wasn't too long ago that I posted about my latest jewelry obsession, Margaret Elizabeth. Well what do you know, yesterday the girl behind Margaret Elizabeth, Meg Galligan, was featured on The Everygirl (just another one of my absolute favorite websites), giving a tour of her gorgeous home in San Francisco. I swear I am not stalking her.... but she has really great taste and I couldn't help but share some of my favorite things in her perfect little San Fran apartment.

Well, I just like everything about this. From the large windows to the pillows to the rug she found on Ebay to the lemons and limes stored on the bar cart.... It's just really, really great.

My apartment wishlist: a stylish bar cart and well stocked bar and bookshelf to attractively display my coffee table books.

This armoire is so perfect with the blue accenting. And I'm digging the rustic looking kitchen table.

I'm a sucker for white bedding and I love the navy trim and monogrammed pillows. That sunburst mirror? Also great.

I mean can we talk about this orange desk, the white lamp, the monogrammed tray? Everything about this is fabulous. I love it.

For more on Meg and her home, check out the full feature on The Everygirl

THE BEST CANDLE

I think it's safe to say one of my favorite parts of Anthropologie is how good the store smells from all of their amazing candles. My favorite is the Capri Blue candle in Aloha Orchid and Volcano and if I could, I would buy them for every room in my apartment. Unfortunately, they aren't exactly cheap. Enter Target (of course!) This Island Moonlight candle by Illume smells exactly the same as the Capri ones, but costs a fraction of the price. It comes in a cute little tin, burns for 50 hours, and only costs $11! Had there been more than one at my Target, I would have stocked up, considering the last time I found my favorite candle there, they discontinued selling it. Seriously considering driving to another location to find it -- and you should probably hurry on over to grab yours!

Love to Pin

Pinterest is the most simple concept, and yet so genius. I wish I had thought of it. Here are some of my pins this week that I'm really digging... style, food, and decorating! All the things I love.

I know it's not even August, but this I'm admittedly looking forward to fall and wearing looks like this. So effortlessly chic.

A really, really awesome DIY chandelier that's in my dreams to make.

I love these.

Beautiful bar cart

This just looks like pure happiness :)

Follow me on Pinterest HERE and look forward to more of my favorite pins each Thursday :)

One more day until the weekend!

One Kings Lane

Has anyone ever used One Kings Lane? It's the same concept of Rue La La and Gilt - designer products at discount prices. Except instead of clothing, shoes, and accessories, it is home goods. There are always great pillows, candles, bathroom and kitchen accessories, and every now and then, coffee table books. Today they are featuring "Preppy Plates" and I'm obsessed with this tray. For one, it has a monogram, and that's perfection. I also love that its made of bamboo and the bright pink chevron. How perfect would this be on a coffee table holding a candle, vase of flowers, and other knick knacks? I'm kind of in love. If you love it as much as me, go to One Kings Lane and sign up for your share of discounted designer home goods.

Coffee Table Inspiration

Coffee Table Inspiration

My roommate and I have been needing a new coffee table since, well, forever. What we have now works, but I don't think it's necessarily something either of us are dying to continue with. You can imagine my delight when one of my favorite websites, The Everygirl, had a feature on styling coffee tables. I am more than inspired, and am determined to use their suggestions and put ideas into reality! I'll be out of town this weekend, but next week I am going to start on this DIY project. The tables are only $7.99 from IKEA, which is great. I love the use of color in the top photos - how great is the leather couch with brightly colored and patterned pillows? I already have several coffee table books, and with a couple purchases on Amazon, Etsy, and Anthropologie, I am certain we can have the coffee table of our dreams for under $50... at least that's my goal. I'll keep you updated on the progress with lots of pics to come!!!
